Playecom Watch Privacy Policy
Playecom Watch Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Playecom handles information when Shopify merchants and their authorized users install and use Playecom Watch, configure monitoring, receive alerts, or contact us for support.
1 Who we are
Playecom Watch is provided by Playecom Experience Consultoria LTDA, a company based in Brazil and registered under CNPJ 48.505.985/0001-33 ("Playecom", "we", "us", or "our").
For privacy questions, support, or requests concerning your personal information, contact apps@playecom.com.br.
2 Scope and responsibilities
Playecom Watch monitors public Shopify platform status and, when enabled by the merchant, the availability of the merchant's storefront. It provides email notifications and incident history.
This policy applies to information processed through the app and its monitoring and notification services. It does not replace the merchant's privacy policy or Shopify's privacy policy. Shopify and other independently operated services handle information under their own terms and policies.
We act as a controller when determining how personal information is used to administer our service, provide support, and meet our own legal obligations. Where we process personal information solely on a merchant's instructions, we act as a processor, and the merchant remains responsible for those instructions and for providing any required notices to authorized users and alert recipients.
3 Information we process
We process the following categories of information, as needed for the features you use and the permissions granted to the app:
Store and installation information: the myshopify.com domain, primary storefront domain, Shopify shop identifier, store name, administrative contact email, time zone, installation status, and installation, update, and uninstall dates.
Authorized user and authentication information: user identifiers, names, email addresses, locale, account owner or collaborator status, and email verification status when provided by Shopify during authentication, together with session identifiers, granted permissions, access or refresh tokens, and expiration information.
Monitoring preferences: the alert email address, whether storefront monitoring is enabled, selected platform components, preferences for incident updates and recovery notices, and the synchronization state of those settings.
Monitoring and incident records: the storefront URL being checked, check times, availability results, relevant response or error information, incident and recovery timestamps, and publicly available platform incident descriptions and updates.
Notification records: the destination email address, alert or test message content, send times, and delivery or failure information made available by the email service provider.
Technical and security information: IP addresses, browser or user agent information, request identifiers, authentication events, errors, and operational or security logs processed by the app or its infrastructure.
Support information: messages, contact details, and files you choose to send us when requesting help. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, or unnecessary customer information.
4 Customer data and storefront checks
The app's monitoring features do not require access to customer profiles, orders, payment transactions, shopping carts, or checkout contents. Playecom Watch does not use buyer names, addresses, telephone numbers, or email addresses to monitor store availability.
Storefront checks are automated requests from our monitoring infrastructure to the storefront. They are not recordings of individual shoppers' browsing activity. These requests may receive publicly accessible page content and technical response information, and may appear in the store's hosting or security logs.
Platform alerts concerning checkout, admin, or APIs refer to service availability and public incident information. They do not mean that the app reads individual checkouts, merchant activity, or API transaction contents.
The current monitoring service does not install advertising pixels or storefront scripts to track shoppers. We do not collect payment card details. If Shopify sends personal information in a mandatory privacy request, we process it only as necessary to authenticate, answer, and document that request.
5 How we use information
Authenticate installations and authorized users, maintain sessions, and keep stores' settings separate.
Check storefront availability and retrieve public platform status information.
Apply your monitoring preferences and send incident, update, recovery, and requested test emails.
Display monitoring results, incident history, and operational notices.
Investigate failures, prevent abuse, protect the service, and improve its reliability.
Respond to support and privacy requests and meet applicable legal and Shopify obligations.
Providing the information needed for authentication, monitoring, and email delivery is necessary to use the corresponding features. You can choose whether to enable optional monitoring or notification settings.
6 Legal bases for processing
Where Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD) or another applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract or steps requested before entering a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interests such as securing the service, preventing abuse, and providing support. We assess legitimate interests against individuals' rights and reasonable expectations.
Where consent is required for an optional activity, we request it for that specific purpose. You may withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. Withdrawing consent does not prevent processing that has another valid legal basis.
7 Email alerts and recipients
We send operational alerts to the email address configured for the store. Messages may identify the monitored store and describe an incident, recovery, or test. Only enter addresses that you are authorized to use for this purpose, and keep them current.
You can change the alert address and available notification preferences in the app. Changes take effect after they have been saved and synchronized with the monitoring service. Test emails are sent to the confirmed alert address.
Monitoring alerts are service communications. Configuring alerts does not, by itself, subscribe a recipient to unrelated marketing. Essential security, privacy, or legal notices may still be sent when necessary.
8 Sharing and service providers
We share information only as needed to operate the app, follow your instructions, or meet legal obligations. Service providers may process information for cloud hosting, databases, storage, monitoring, security, email delivery, and support. Current infrastructure includes Google Cloud and Cloudflare. Shopify supplies the app installation and authentication environment and relevant platform information.
Email providers process recipient addresses and message content to deliver notifications and provide delivery information. Infrastructure providers may process technical logs and network information in delivering their services. We limit the information shared to the relevant service purpose and require appropriate contractual protections where applicable.
We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to establish or defend legal claims. We do not sell personal information or share it for third-party behavioral advertising. Store-specific monitoring results and alert addresses are not published as part of public platform incident information.
9 International processing
Our service providers may process information in Brazil and in other countries where they operate their infrastructure or support services. These countries may have data protection rules that differ from those in your location.
Where an international transfer requires safeguards, the transfer must rely on a mechanism permitted by the applicable law, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual clauses. You may contact us for information about the providers, processing locations, and safeguards relevant to your information.
10 Retention and deletion
We retain store, authentication, and configuration information while needed to provide the app and manage the installation. The app's incident history covers up to 30 days. This history window does not mean that every account record, security log, or backup is deleted after 30 days.
After we receive and process an uninstall notification, we deactivate the installation and stop its monitoring and operational alerts. Uninstalling also removes the app's authorized access through Shopify.
We delete or irreversibly anonymize the relevant store data in response to Shopify's shop/redact request within 30 days of receiving it, except where retention is required by law. Privacy requests received directly are handled within the deadlines applicable to the request.
Security logs, support correspondence, and records needed to meet legal obligations or establish or defend claims may be retained for the period necessary for those purposes. Retention is assessed according to the record's purpose, sensitivity, and legal requirements. Backups follow the applicable backup deletion cycle and are not used to resume routine processing of deleted information. Any retained information remains subject to access restrictions.
Public platform incident information that does not identify a merchant or individual may remain available independently of a particular store's installation.
11 Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service, including secure communications, authenticated access, access restrictions, and controls intended to separate information between stores and protect credentials. Access to personal information is limited to those who need it for an authorized purpose.
No system can guarantee absolute security. If a personal data incident occurs, we will investigate, take appropriate containment and remediation measures, and provide notifications required by applicable law.
12 Your privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may request confirmation of processing, access to your information, correction, information about recipients, portability, restriction, objection, or deletion or anonymization where applicable. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent and complain to the relevant data protection authority, including Brazil's ANPD.
Send requests to apps@playecom.com.br and identify the store concerned. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity and authority to act. Please do not send passwords or access tokens. Where we act on behalf of a merchant, we may refer the request to that merchant and assist with the response. We will explain any lawful limitation that prevents us from fulfilling a request in full.
13 Cookies and similar technologies
The app uses Shopify authentication and session mechanisms. Strictly necessary cookies or browser storage may be used for authentication, security, or essential functionality where required by the relevant app or platform component.
Playecom Watch does not use advertising cookies or shopper profiling technologies for its monitoring service. Shopify and other platforms may use their own technologies under their respective privacy policies.
14 Children
Playecom Watch is intended for businesses and people authorized to administer stores. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly seek their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to us so that we can assess and address the situation.
15 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app, our data practices, or applicable requirements. We will update the date above and provide notice through the app or by email where required for a material change. If a new activity requires consent or additional permissions, we will obtain them before beginning that activity.
